Download Windows 10 optional update KB4550945 for Version 1909 and 1903

Recently Microsoft has rolled out the latest non-security Windows 10 update KB4550945 for versions 1909 and 1903 with has several fixes and improvements for Windows 10. The latest KB4550945 belongs to the C category of releases that are usually available in the third week of the month. Installing KB4550945 bumps the version number OS Build 18362.815 and OS Build 18363.815 for the May 2019 Update and November 2019 Update respectively,

The latest update KB4540673 only applicable for All devices running Windows 10 version 1903 and version 1909. Well today’s update is optional, meaning that if you check for updates in Windows Update, you’ll be given the option to download and install it. If you don’t take it, it won’t automatically install it. Instead, the fixes will be bundled into next month’s Patch Tuesday update, which will install automatically.

  • Press Windows key + I to open Windows Settings
  • Click Update & security than Windows update,
  • Here you need to check for updates manually and then click on ‘Download and install now’ link under optional updates.
  • Once done restart your PC to apply the updates.

Windows 10 Build 18363.815

The latest Windows 10 KB4549951 includes quality improvements, fixes problem that causes Windows Update to stop responding when checking for updates. In addition, this update addresses printing, notifications, and gaming problems as well as an issue that prevents certain apps from opening after an upgrade. 

  • Addresses an issue that prevents certain apps from opening after you upgrade from a previous version of Windows, and a Bad Image exception dialog box appears.
  • Addresses in an issue that turns off notifications for devices that use a virtual private network (VPN) on a cellular network.
  • Addresses an issue that prevents you from resuming a Microsoft Xbox game on a Windows device after upgrading from a previous version of Windows.

Microsoft is not currently aware of any issues with this update.

Windows 10 Build 17763.1192

Devices still running older Windows 10 version 1809 aka October 2019 update receive KB4550969 that bumps the OS Windows 10 Build 17763.1192 and addresses the following problems.

  • Addresses an issue that occurs when a third-party application loads hidden tabs into Internet Options.
  • Addresses an issue with pasting mixed content of images and text from Microsoft Word into Internet Explorer.
  • Addresses an issue that causes a box that contains multiple lines of text to stop responding in certain scenarios.
  • Addresses an issue that prevents the first key stroke from being recognized correctly in the DataGridView cell.
  • Addresses an issue that causes an application that uses msctf.dll to stop working, and the 0xc0000005 (Access violation) exception appears.
  • Addresses a reliability issue in WDF01000.sys.
  • Addresses an issue that causes a KERNEL_SECURITY_CHECK_FAILURE (139) stop error when Windows resumes from Sleep and turns on certain Bluetooth headsets.

Known issue:

After installing KB4493509, devices with some Asian language packs installed may receive the error, “0x800f0982 – PSFX_E_MATCHING_COMPONENT_NOT_FOUND.”

To mitigate the issue, Microsoft suggests Uninstall and reinstall any recently added language packs. Select Check for Updates and install the April 2019 Cumulative Update. If reinstalling the language pack does not mitigate the issue, reset your PC as follows:

  1. Go to the Settings app > Recovery.
  2. Select Get Started under the Reset this PC recovery option.
  3. Select Keep my Files.

Windows 10 build 17134.1456

The Windows 10 April 2018 Update, version 1803, has reached the end of support on November 12, 2019, but the company has released update KB4550944 to address a number of problems while bumping the version number to build 17134.1456.
