The app was originally created for iOS devices and now it has been expanded to  Android, Mac OS X, Windows, Linux and the web. Install Simplenote v2.21.0

Go to the official SimpleNote website and download the deb package.

There’s also a generic Linux binary (.tar.gz) for other distributions.

launch a terminal and CD into the ~/Downloads folder.

cd ~/Downloads

Install Simplenote with:

sudo dpkg -i Simplenote-linux*.deb
sudo apt install -f

Fedora

sudo dnf install Simplenote-linux*.rpm

OpenSUSE

sudo zypper install Simplenote-linux*.rpm

Download and install via terminal

If you prefer terminal, then use the following command to SimpleNote deb package.

wget https://github.com/Automattic/simplenote-electron/releases/download/v1.3.4/simplenote-1.3.4.deb

Once it’s downloaded, install it with dpkg.

sudo dpkg -i simplenote-1.3.4.deb

Then start it from Unity Dash or your preferred app launcher. If the app icon doesn’t show up, try logging out and logging back in.

You will need to sign up for a new account.

Ctrl-n New Note
Ctrl-f Move focus to search field
Ctrl-+ Increase font size
Ctrl- – Decrease font size
Ctrl-0 Reset font size

To uninstall the snap version of Simplenote, simply run the command:

sudo snap remove simplenote
